So many people are looking for additional ways to make money. This is no big surprise when you consider the state of the economy.

Like many women, I had trouble losing weight after having kids. Prior to pregnancy, I had always been very fit and trim, and could eat practically anything I wanted without having to worry about the consequences (in terms of my waistline). But how things have changed now! It seems that I've been struggling for years to lose the last five pounds of extra fat that I gained during when I was pregnant. Most of that weight is concentrated in my belly, giving me a very noticeable paunch that gets in the way of wearing sexy clothes. I clearly need to add some abdominal exercise equipment to my routine.

Since I've been trying to slim down, I closely watch what I eat. I'm on a low-carb, low-fat diet, and do not eat packaged chips, cookies, crackers, or similar junk food. I also work out six days per week, alternating between running four miles outdoors and going to the gym to hit the Stairmaster and weights. From what I've read, this kind of routine should absolutely allow me to return to my old fit and trim self. But that's not happening, which is why I'm going to buy abdominal exercise equipment to use at home.

There are many different types of abdominal exercise equipment available today, so it could take a while for me to settle on a particular product. Some of the abdominal exercise equipment I've seen is sold via late-night infomercials and seems pretty gimmicky. I'm obviously going to stay away from that stuff because I'm not interested in wasting money.

Instead, I want something that will help me work my core without straining my back or neck the way traditional sit-ups or crunches can. Whenever I try to incorporate sit-ups or crunches, I end up having to stop just a week or two later because my back simply cannot take the strain. I know there are some advanced pieces of abdominal exercise equipment that can target my abs and core without taxing my back muscles too much. These are the products I need to check out ASAP.

First I'll probably head down to the local sports store to see what kind of abdominal exercise equipment they have in stock. There usually isn't a huge selection in places like that, but they're likely to carry the most popular products and at least I'll be able to give the machine a test run. Next, I'll probably read some reviews of different machines to see what has worked for other people. Then once I find something I want to buy, I can browse online for bigger discounts or whatever.

I'm tired of this bulging belly and the constant dieting I'm putting myself through in order to lose a lousy five pounds and firm up my abs. I think the answer here is to use abdominal exercise equipment for something like this instead of just jogging and using the Stairmaster. Hopefully I can find something effective!

If you run your own business, and you rue the kind of taxes you have to pay, Congress just signed into law a little piece of legislation that might be of interest to you. The self-employed have always been able to take for granted the fact that they can claim as a deduction everything that they pay in health insurance costs for themselves and their families. Under the welcome new law, if you run your own business, you are now allowed to deduct those health insurance premiums out of your income before you calculate your income tax. It used to be that you had to pay taxes on your entire income – payroll taxes. If you don’t know it already, to those in self employment, income tax that works off payroll taxes is the most hated kind.

The smalltime self-employed, people who are freelancers, who are proprietors of their own bodega or restaurant and so on, usually live under the burden of having to pay a 15.3% tax all by themselves. Salaried people on the other hand, only need to pay 6.2%; the other 6.2%, the business they work for pays in matching contributions. That money goes towards Social Security and Medicare. What this works out to is this: a self-employed person who makes $50,000 and pays $8000 in health insurance for her family, ends up paying only $6426 in self employment income tax – a savings of over $1200. Looked at in another way, it’s like someone just gave you 15% off on your health insurance premiums.

The only problem is, there is a cap on how much in self-employment, income tax you can save works up to. There is nothing owed by way of Social Security taxes once you hit something around $106,000. So if you make $120,000 in a year, and you pay $10,000 for your health insurance, you will find that you owe payroll taxes on $110,000. The tax break will not come to your rescue. But there is no cap on Medicare taxes, if that’s any consolation.

According to the National Association for the Self-Employed, it expects on average, that your regular self-employed breadwinner should save anywhere between $500 and $1000, give or take. That’s what they arrived at working on the kind of premiums these families generally pay. So far, this is a temporary measure; but all signs point to how this can become a permanent fixture on the tax scene.

People seem to have the misconception that only a select few are able to unleash a steady flow of creative genius. That is not true at all. The fact is, creativity is very much like a muscle that needs to be exercised in order to consistently give out great results. If you don’t practice harnessing creative thinking, this skill will very much atrophy into inexistence. But keep working and this skill will soon come to you in a snap.

So how do you unleash your creative thinking? Well, the first thing is to become a human leech. No, we’re not talking about just sucking the blood out of every living being available, we’re saying that you should take in as much knowledge and learning you can find. Read everything available — good and bad, and keep your mind open to the infinite possibilities of the universe. The more you know, the more you’ll want to know, and the more your faculty of wonder will be exercised. Prepare to be amazed at little facts that add a bit of color into your life.

Focus on a creative activity everyday. Yes, it’s an effort. Even doodling is a creative activity. Don’t let anything hinder you. Mindlessness may be a creative activity, but for people who are just starting out to unleash a little bit of creative thinking in their lives, it is helpful and encouraging to have concrete evidence, that, “hey, what I’m doing is getting somewhere.” So why don’t you try it. Practice drawing for a couple of minutes each day. Bring out your old camera and start snapping photos like crazy. Keep a journal and make a point to write in it religiously. Another cool idea is to write by describing something with your five senses. Try to avoid vague adjectives like “marvelous,” “amazing,” and “delicious.” Before you know it, you’ll have built yourself a tiny portfolio, and you’ll be amazed at the growth you’ve undertaken after amassing all those works of art. Who knows, you might actually take to liking those things you do everyday. Pretty soon those things will become a part of you and you’ll be addicted to these creative exercises.

Think out of the box — or don’t. Sometimes, constraints are actually a good thing. Limitations discipline you to work within your means. It enables you to be more resourceful. Creative freedom is great, but limitations enforce discipline.

Try something new everyday and let your experiences broaden your perspective. Explore a new district in your neighborhood. Spend an afternoon in a museum to which you’ve never been before. Chat up someone on the bus. Open up to the people around you. As you thrust yourself out of your comfort zone more and more each day, your sense of adventure grows and so does your zest for life. Think about it. When was the last time you did something for the first time? If it’s been a while, I tell you, you’ve been missing out on a whole lot of experiences that could’ve added to your growth, emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually. Why don’t you try bungee jumping today? Not only will you learn, but you will also have plenty of stories to share, enabling you to practice your storytelling skills and making you the life of the party.

Embrace insanity. No, not to the point of practically admitting yourself into the mental ward. As John Russell once said, “Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting.” Exactly! Every creative thought was once deemed insanity by other “normal” people at one time or another. Luckily, that didn’t stop the creative geniuses from standing by them. The thing is, sanity or being normal confines people to think… well, normally. Withink limits. Creativity is essentially breaking through barriers. Yes, this includes the bizzarre and the downright strange. I’m not saying that you yourself should develop a creative personality. That might go haywire. An example of a creative personality would be George Washington, who often rode into battle naked, or James Joyce, who wrote “Dubliners” with beetle juice for an intense fear of ink, or Albert Einstein, who thought his cat was a spy sent by his rival (or in thinking creatively in this case, the term could probably be “archnemesis.”) It’s important that your creativity doesn’t get you detached from the real world completely.

I hope this article has inspired you to start thinking beyond your “limits.” If you follow these steps pretty soon you’ll be living a life full of interesting adventures. Unleashing your creative thinking will bring about a new zest for living life.

So, you just got paid, and now you are trying your best to spread you paycheck around amongst all of the bills. After all, you have the electric, water, Internet, cable, and phone bills all due at the same time. Then there is your car payment that cannot be late. The only problem is that you are lacking $250. Not to mention, you have not even paid for groceries or gas yet. This is a major dilemma that requires your attention immediately. Well, before you freak out, and have a nervous breakdown, you may want to consider an alternative option. These days you can check into cash advance loan online options.

In this day and age, there are plenty of options when it comes to income and borrowing money in a pinch. This is a wonderful thing for countless people all over America. Essentially you can get easy access to a cash advance loan online in little time at all. There are specific lenders that assist people just like you with this all the time. What this means is you can basically borrow a sum of cash until you get paid. This is pretty ideal when you think about it. After all, you do not even have to leave your home to do this. I guess you could say that borrowing money is certainly not as difficult as it used to be.

What major online lenders offer cash advance loans? There are a few websites that should be examined further, and these are MyCashNow.com, SnapPayday.com, and paydayone.com. It does not matter if you are unfamiliar with this cash advance loan online process. Each of these websites explain exactly what is involved with a fast cash loan. Therefore all you need to do is read through their policy and agreement before requesting a personal loan. It is certainly a good idea to read through all three lender sites before making any decisions on a cash advance loan online. My Cash Now, Pay Day One, and Snap Payday, all have different interest rates.

There is a little interest involved with cash advance loans online. This means if you borrow $500 today, and then pay the lender back in 10 days, you will owe a little bit of interest on the sum of money you borrowed. Since this is a type of money-lending business, each lender naturally wants to make a profit. However, borrowing a certain amount of money until payday can really save your credit. After all, no one wants to pay their bills late, and end up with a ding to their credit score. This is awful to even think about. Everyone needs a good credit score in this day and age to acquire a new car, home, or other large ticket items.

If there is one thing that is inevitable, it is that there is not enough money to go around. Surely you have encountered this dilemma at some point or another. Since money really does not grow on trees, you eventually have to make it on your own, and make certain there is enough to go around. In other words, you must have enough income to pay the bills each month, and still get gas and buy groceries. This can naturally get pricey over time. Typically every individual stops and looks around once in a while, and wonders what they are doing. No worries! It is all part of life as we know it, and fortunately there are alternative ways to earn extra income.

Have you ever considered trying to earn extra income? I mean, capital that does not come from your day to day job. More than likely you have a 9-5 job that is Monday through Friday. Well, unfortunately these tend to pay the same amount of money each and every month. If you are luck, you get a raise at the start of a new year of quarter. It all just depends on the company you work for, and the state of the economy. However, you do not have to sit around and wait for your employer to bestow a few extra dollars upon you. There are simple ways you can earn extra income from the privacy of your own home.

First of all, you should consider the stock market, and trading. If you have never dabbled in this, and it is completely new to you, then now is the time to get interested. Regardless of what you have heard, this is an excellent way to earn extra income for your future. Check out helpful websites like Forex.com, which can give you further details on how to get started with a little stock trading of your own. If you are unclear on how this process works, you essentially start by purchasing a desired number of stock shares. Maybe they cost you $50 per share. Now, as time passes, the value of these stocks may increase. This means more money for you when you sell them.

There are other ways to earn extra income from the comfort of your home as well. You do not have to get involved with the stock market. One way to earn is through affiliate sales. This means you need to have some websites or blogs in order to get started. This way you can place affiliate links on your sites in order to get sales from customers. Again, if you are not sure how this works, it all begins with a website or blog about something. If you have a blog on home gardening, you can use affiliate links on your pages that lead web surfers to garden supplies and equipment. If they make a purchase, then you make a profit.

If there is one part to applying for mortgage these days that is truly unfair, it has to be the demand that the person applying have an immaculate credit score. More or less these days, an applicant’s credit score has become the one and only thing that matters to frightened banks and lenders. Of course, they won’t admit as much – they do still keep saying that the credit score is just one among many factors to affect the outcome of an application. No matter which part of the terms and conditions of any package should change, one thing remains constant – the credit score requirements. The banks have tried constantly to have everyone improve credit score minimums considerably to even qualify.

Not only are families having a hard time trying to improve credit score showings they have, they’re having a hard time maintaining what they already have and avoiding a downgrade. Consider the ways in which a family struggling hard with their credit score can get an unfair shake. Consider a single mother who is trying to apply for a mortgage. She has $2000 worth of debt on a credit card that has a $4000 limit. She applies for mortgage, and while they are processing it, there is an advertisement that catches her eye – it is for a credit card by another bank, that charges her a lower interest rate. Of course, they only offer her a $2000 line of credit; but she figures that that’s as much that she needs. So she switches to the new credit card. Suddenly, her credit score shows that she’s used up 100% of her available credit. For that reason, the moprtgage people consider her an unsafe bet, and they deny her a mortgage at the rate she was hoping for. There are thousands of sad stories like this all around.

If the way mortgages were underwritten used to be unnecessarily relaxed at one time, they are unfairly tightened up now. In those days, Wall Street actually asked the banks to make risky loans to people with low credit scores. It’s what they used, to sell their debt packages. Now that the pendulum has swung the other way, Wall Street wants the opposite, and the banks jump to Wall Street’s demands.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that the federal government owns now, are the most skittish of mortgage underwriters. And they are the ones who insist on having applicants improve credit score ratings no end. If they require that you have a 705 credit score and you only have a 704, it is the government’s policy to require that you be denied a mortgage. Which is foolish, of course. The credit score is no better at predicting your creditworthiness than a good job, savings or assets. If a credit score were all that important, you would imagine that credit bureaus would be very careful with the way they interpreted the incoming data. Not only are they careless with their calculations, they often neglect one or the other item completely.

The credit bureaus don’t even try to see if you are someone who is trying to improve their credit score or are someone with their credit score and decline. They just take a snapshot of where you are right at the moment you apply. And the three credit bureaus never agree. It’s all part of the unfairness that’s ingrained in the system. President Obama has signed a new consumer protection agency into law. Let’s see if they have something to say in the matter.

You have probably come across exotic-sounding terms such as ?chakra?, ?prana?, ?aura?, and ?tantra? in your course of reading books on spirituality, sex, and healing in the New Age literature section of the bookstore. But what?s the real scoop behind these exotic vocabularies?

Are All Energy Healings the Same?

Chakra or energy center is a term used in Pranic healing, an ancient Hindu system of energy healing. ?Prana? means life energy. ?Aura? is another terminology traced to Pranic healing. Aura is a non-physical body that consists of energy, which exists along with our physical body. The aura that covers our body is said to have seven layers pertaining to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of an individual as manifested by energy. Studying the color and thickness of auras give ideas on the state of health of individuals. Six colors are associated with aura and interpreted into six personalities. These colors are all present in an individual but one or two are more pronounced.
Green ? ambitious achiever
Blue ? spiritual peacemaker
White ? unconventional chameleon
Red ? activist
Orange ? creative communicator
Violet – psychic

Although Tantra is popularly associated with the peculiar practice of sex and spirituality, it is another method of energy healing. It comes from the word ?tan? which means to spread or expand. The concept of connectedness is a recurring theme in Tantric writings on sex and spirituality. As a method of healing, spirituality and sex figure prominently. It is presupposed that the union of man and woman can reach spiritual levels during orgasm, which removes the body and mind off collected impurities. These impurities being negative energies can in turn manifest as physical illnesses.

Unlike Pranic and Tantric healings, which have Hindu origins, Reiki originated from Japan. It is relatively younger than Pranic and Tantric healings having been rediscovered in the early 1900?s. Reiki stands for universal energy, an energy brought forth by higher intelligence. Students of Reiki are taught how to tap this energy to heal physical, emotional, and mental illnesses.

Although Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki are all systems of energy healing, they differ in the type of energy tapped for healing: life energy, sexual energy, and universal energy respectively.

The concepts of the connectedness of mind, body, and spirit; the connection of individuals to all living and nonliving things around them and to the universe; and how energy impacts physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are some of the salient similarities of these three healing methods.

Why Do People Turn to Energy Healing?

Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki are considered alternative methods of healing. In spite of the availability and relative accessibility of modern medicine, how come more and more people are being drawned to them? Here are some possible reasons:

? Energy healing worked where modern medicine failed.

For several reasons both explainable and unexplainable, modern medical treatment failed to heal ailments and conditions in several if not many persons. Research or data may not be able to support this statement. But for the families of the dying as well as for the dying patient, they would take the risk of using alternative methods ranging from herbals and organics, faith healers, witch doctors, and New Age healing techniques just to be get well.

? People perceive modern medicine to be isolating.

Medical treatments are oftentimes focused on the disease and its causative agent, which can make a patient feel isolated and treated like a mere host of the disease. Although recent developments in hospital practice are gradually promoting the holistic treatment of a patient, the perception still persists. Unlike in energy healing, since energy and spirituality are intimately linked, the patient feels that all aspects of his health are being attended to.

? Energy healing is non-obtrusive and natural thus it is safer.

Repeated surgical procedures are physically and emotionally traumatic for most patients. It is but a logical and attractive option to both patient and families to look for less stressful health interventions. Moreover, with the rising popularity of New Age religions, going natural is the way to go.

? Energy healing is a good way of relieving stress.

Meditation is part and parcel of energy healing methods and this is an added come-on for highly stressed people. Moreover, sophisticated equipment is not required thus it becomes all the more convenient for students and future students of energy healing.

The battle between alternative healing and mainstream medicine continues as both present the benefits of their approach. But in the final analysis, what matters is the restoration of good health.

The way the banks have run their credit card businesses all these years, no matter how wonderful your credit score or your spending and repayment record, you could never tell when they would go and cut your spending limit or raise your interest rates. If they gave you the required two-week notice period, they felt justified in forcing you to go along. With the new credit card laws in effect now, some of these unjustified behaviors will cease. But others will continue – with rules that have only improved a little bit. For instance, to raise your interest rates, they’ll need to give you a six-week notice period now. And they can only raise interest on future purchases, and not ones you’ve already made, like they could do in the past. But even the best credit card deals out there today keep trying to pull one over you with convincing-looking schemes that can still be partial to their interests. Let’s look at a few of these now.

Consider the new credit card offers that you hear of from Citi and Amex. Citi offers you balance transfer promotions that you can personalize your tastes. You get to put down the interest rate you are willing to pay and the rewards program you are comfortable with. Amex’ Zync charge cards can be customized for different kinds of needs – they have benefits and rewards for different kinds of lifestyles and desires. Discover has a customizable credit card builder tool too. You just go to their website and use their CardBuilder tool select the exact rewards programs, interest rates and promotional terms that make the most sense to you.

It is undoubtedly an improvement over what we used to have, to be given credit cards that offer personalization in their choices. Your chances of finding the best credit card deals around do increase with such a scheme. But when none of the major credit card forums FlyerTalk or FatWallet recommend these very highly, you do have to wonder. The general feeling in the air is that the terms offered are no different than any other standard card around; while these do offer you a certain amount of flexibility, these are far from the best credit card deals you could get.

Businesses looking for the best credit card deals should find a degree more satisfaction with these customizable offers than individual customers do. For instance, a business that makes use of Zync gains access to a forum at Amex that lets them make suggestions that they know will be heard. Basically, customizable credit cards are for the more involved customer. That’s why these cards don’t come with a lot of fanfare. Add to that the fact that these cards charge between 10% and 20%, and you do begin to see how it could be hard to push this product.
